DevOps Engineer

Job Description

• We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with a proven track record of running critical shared application platforms in a production cloud environment, who will prioritize teamwork and can act as a multiplier, helping other engineers improve.
• Define/implement tools and processes to standardize and automate the way project software is developed, built, tested, and deployed;
• Ensure a homogeneous way of implementing continuous integration and/or continuous delivery across projects;
• Assist with the design and development of resilient, secure, supportable, and scalable systems;
• Automate infrastructure deployments and rollbacks for all developed work assuming responsibility for process support;
• Lead investigations into production incidents with assistance from the development team;
• Proactively manage any risks to the production environment;
• Continually improve the supportability of our systems by feeding improvements back into the design and development cycles.

Education and experiences

• University degree in Computer Sciences, or equivalent 
• IT knowledge-base and current IT technologies 
• 3+ years’ extensive experience in DevOps across all Phases of the software lifecycle

Qualifications

• Proven experience with AWS/GCP/Azure cloud technologies.
• Proven experience with design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipeline automation using tools like GitHub Actions and Docker.
  
• Hands-on experience with GitOps practices and tools like Argo CD.
  
• In-depth understanding of Micro-services architecture, API management, and distributed systems concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Proficient with logging management tools such as ELK or Loki stack.
• Skilled in distributed tracing tools such as Zipkin, Jaeger, or Tempo.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization for network latency and storage I/O.
• Implement and manage alerting systems to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues.
  
• Knowledge of Java/Python and other development languages/tools.
• Experience with API gateways and RESTful technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python for infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of security best practices and tools for DevOps environments is preferred.
  
• Ability to balance technical and soft skills, understanding that great software requires both problem identification and prevention.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and time management skills.
